A very rare pair of early eighteenth century Queen Anne giltwood side tables,attributed to James Moore (1670-1726) the rectangular tops with carved strap work and foliate decoration surrounding a central cartouche with lambrequin border supported on a carved base with shaped front and side rails with acanthus stylised carved knees on cabriole legs terminating in carved pad feet.James Moore 1670-1726 was the leading cabinet maker and designer of his day working for the Royal Household including the refurbishment of the Royal yacht alongside the fitting out of the Royal apartments. His other clients were also very distinguished and included the Duchess of Marlborough for the works at Blenheim Palace and the Duke of Chandos for his house at Cannons. His work is recognised by the exceptional detail in carved giltwood with strapwork interlinked with floral pattern.
