An Irish George II mahogany card table, the top opening to reveal a baize-covered playing surface, the intricately carved shaped apron centred by a cartouche with a portrait bust of a Roman nobleman, surrounded by floral decoration accentuated by punch work, with eagle's heads springing from the tops of the straight cabriole legs and acanthus decoration continuing down each, ending in squared lion-paw feet below carved fetlocks.
