A very rare late 18th century urn-shaped japanned tole water cistern on a mahogany base, the urn decorated in the Etruscan style with anthemion and floral decoration on a dark brown ground, the base carved with a band of fluting and sides with concave-cornered panels and inserted carved roundels, centred by gilt bronze pull ring handles, one opening to reveal a drawer with the original tin liner, a concealed flap revealing the tap.
