Do you offer a repairs service?

We have a dedicated restoration business, Hatfields. Read more on their experience in this field here.

Can I take an item on approval?

We are happy to lend works of art on approval to your home whilst you decide whether they are right for you. In these circumstances, you would need to be known personally to us and to hold an account. To begin this process, please call us +44 (0)20 7499 7411 or +1 212 249 8783, or send an email in the first instance to info@mallettantiques.com.

We generally allow items to remain on approval for up to 1 week. One of our sales team will be very happy to discuss this further with you.

I have antiques I’d like to sell – can I contact you?

Please send us photographs of your pieces to info@mallettantiques.com .Because of the volume of enquiries we receive we are sorry that we are unable to always provide a personal response if your antiques are not quite suitable for us. We are unable to provide a valuation service.

Do you offer advice on furnishing my home?

Can you source items for me?

If there is something you cannot find with Mallett we will be very happy to source an item for you. Please contact your sales representative or email info@mallettantiques.com.

An item I purchased from Mallett has been stolen/damaged and I need to claim from my insurance. How can you help?

Deliveries

 

What are my delivery options for purchases?

We offer free delivery for London and the South East of England for items purchased from our London showrooms. We can also offer free delivery for the New York State area for items purchased from New York. Please see our Shipping page for further information.

 

Disabled Access

 

What facilities do you have?

The New York showrooms are accessible for wheelchair users. Ely House is a grade one listed building and there are five steps to the entrance, but we do have a lift inside to all floors.

Do you hold special events at Mallett?

Any events will be shown in advance on our Events page. We are able to privately hire our London premises, Ely House – please see our Venue Hire page for more information.

How do I make a purchase?

Shopping online at Mallett is easy and secure. We are able to take online payments for orders totalling up to £20,000.

  • Use the Furniture, Objects, Modern, Pictures and Textiles links. You can also shop from our Encyclopedia pages.
  • Once you have found an object, click on the ‘PURCHASE’ button on the product page.
  • Review the items in your basket by clicking the basket icon at the top right of the page.
  • Click on 'PROCEED TO CHECK OUT' to complete your order

 

Why can't I purchase all your displayed items online?

We currently allow purchases of up to £20,000 only online.

There are also some items in our stock which we are unable to display the price for, and can only do so upon request.

For items without a price, or exceeding the £20,000 threshold, please contact one of our sales team who will be very happy to help you.

Do you offer same day delivery in London?

Is my package insured and will I have to sign for my order?

Your item will be insured by us. Because your package will be couriered from our door to yours, you or your nominated representative will need to be available to recieve and sign for your delivery.

Why are shipping restrictions applied to some items?

Certain materials, including bone, ivory, rosewood and shagreen have restrictions placed on their import and export. In these instances, further permission needs to be sought in line with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and a license obtained to cover their export. There are some instances when there is a strict ban on items, in which circumstances we may be unable to complete your order shipping to certain destinations. We will provide expert advice on every stage of this process should it affect your order.
