Kenwood House Reopens

Kenwood House has reopened after its 10-month closure in order for English Heritage to complete its ‘Caring for Kenwood’ restoration.

The house, which originally dates from the early 17th century, was bought in 1754 by William Murray, the First Earl of Mansfield, who between 1764 and 1779 commissioned Robert Adam to remodel it when he built the library and the porch at the entrance.

In the Robert Adam Library is a needlework carpet supplied by Mallett, shown in situ here.
